A Vetran of the Second World War

It was wonderful to have Mr. Martin and his wife with us today in our nursing home services. Mr. Martin is veteran of World War 2 in which he fought in the European theater. I had the privilege of witnessing to Mr. And Mrs. Martin and found that they were already Born Again! Praise the Lord for men who were willing to stand and fight for their country! Thank you for your service!

Marks of Weak Leadership

Sampson judged Israel 20 years and was a thorn in the side of the Philistines. However, I see nowhere that indicates that he ever lead Israel any closer to deliverance then they were before he began to judge. Though Samson was strong in physical strength he was weak as a leader. Here are Samson's three marks of weak leadership.
1. He put his own pleasures before the commands of God.
2. He acted in emotion. Mostly in anger.
3. He was easily persuaded or enticed by words...especially a woman's words.

Be Careful of the Children

"And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel." Judges 2:10... It is a sobering thought that if we are not careful our children will not know the Lord our God!

Keeping Your Life on Track

In studying the story of Naaman in the Bible it is interesting to me to see that when he came unto the prophet to seek for cleansing that the action had to be taken on his part. In the story, Naaman became very wroth because he thought that the man of God would come out and perform the action for him.

I believe that we attain salvation by grace through faith with no Works involved. However, if we are to get our live the victorious Christian life for God it is going to take an effort on our part. Often we want to go to the man of God with our spiritual problems and have him do all the work for us. Mistakenly we are disappointed with him when he cannot. Our lives are not hindered by the lack of power in our Preacher, but rather by the lack of effort in ourselves.

A Testimony For Our Children

"And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you? Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand: And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes: And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers." Deut. 6:20-23
